As is the case with all Champions League press briefings, the manager is joined by a player to field questions ahead of the next game. This time around, Newcastle United chose Joelinton to face the media ahead of their clash with Union Saint-Gilloise.

Joelinton was in inspired form last Wednesday as Newcastle United beat Bradford City in the Carabao Cup, with the Brazilian bagging two goals in the 4-1 win.

Unfortunately, he was far from his best on Sunday as the Magpies fell to a 2-1 defeat to Arsenal thanks to two late goals.

It seems Joelinton has taken the defeat the right way, however, and is using it as motivation rather than something to mope about.

Joelinton channelled his inner Jesse Ventura in today's press conference

Joey sent a strong message to his teammates in his press conference today (h/t The Chronicle) as he set down a marker - it's time to start winning games.

"I feel good and the team feels good. It is all positive and we have an opportunity to win a game. It is a massive game, we have a lot of games but we don't have time to lose any more. I hope we can do it with a good performance."

I don't know whether it's just because Joelinton wouldn't look out of place in the movie, but I got strong Predator vibes from that - "I ain't got time to bleed".

Eddie Howe needs time on the training pitch that he just hasn't got

Performances haven't necessarily been the problem for the Magpies this season. Indeed, many pundits praised the way they played against Liverpool and Barcelona and felt that Newcastle did enough to win both of those games.

The problem is a lack of creativity, and at the moment, it's so difficult to see who or what area of the pitch that's lacking. Balls are going into the area, but there's nobody attacking them, but then whoever is playing centre-forward, particularly Nick Woltemade, still aren't getting the service in the right areas.

It's a problem Eddie Howe needs to solve quickly, but he's limited because of the fixture congestion means he doesn't have the time on the training ground to fix it.
