'We are back': A message from the top as Jamie Reuben addresses Newcastle United fans ahead of massive Sunday

It may have escaped your notice but Newcastle United are in action this Sunday afternoon as they face off against Liverpool at Wembley for the Carabao Cup. Kick-off is 4:30pm live on ITV and Sky Sports.

Newcastle fans quickly snapped up their 33,000 ticket allocation for the match but we dare bet there were more than 33,000 Geordies who made the trip to the capital this weekend to soak up the atmosphere in and around Wembley.

The London streets were awash with black and white on Saturday as fans drank, sang and danced the night away around Covent Garden and other designated areas.

It has been a long two years since we were last at Wembley and today we'll be hoping for a better outcome at full time than the last time, but if the football fates are against us again, nobody can take this feeling away from us.

Jamie Reuben has issued a message to the Newcastle United fans

One of Newcastle Untied's top men, Jamie Reuben who holds a stake in the club, took to X last night to thank the fans for their support and emphasise that the squad are stronger than the last time we were here.

"Two years on and we are back, stronger and more determined than ever, thank you for your support tomorrow and every day @NUFC"

Jamie Reuben invited close friends and former NUFC stakeholders Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi to today's game. It will be almost nostalgic to see them sat together again after Staveley and Ghodoussi's departure in the summer.

Whatever happens today, let's make it one to remember. The odds are against us, we are the underdogs, but that will just make it all the more impressive if we can do the business.

I honestly don't know how those of you who are attending the game are handling it. I'm at home, pacing the floor already. Stomach is in knots.
