Newcastle United are still waiting to make their breakthrough in the transfer market in terms of signing a first-team player, but their one arrival so far this summer is starring on the international stage in the U19 European Championships.
We were hoping to keep an eye on Newcastle United academy graduate Lewis Miley through the U19s Euros, but the England midfielder had to withdraw from the squad through injury.
Fortunately, the Magpies have another representative in the tournament in the form of new signing Antonio Cordero, and the young Spaniard is on fire.
Cordero received tonnes of praise for his performance in Spain's first game of the tournament, in which they beat Denmark 1-0.
Last night, as Spain saw off Romania 3-1, it took Antonito Cordero just three minutes to give his side the lead.
Cordero was in the right spot as the ball was played into the middle of the box, and the 18-year-old made no mistake, sweeping the ball home to get Spain on their way.
That win ensured that Spain will enter the knock-out phase of the competition regardless of what happens in their third game on Thursday, where they will face Montenegro.
Would you like to see Antonio Cordero stick around with the first-team next season?
The plan with Cordero is to find him a loan move next season, but we'll be hoping to see him in action for the first-team during pre-season and we're sure Eddie Howe would like to take a closer look at his new future star.
Perhaps there's even a chance that Cordero could play his way into sticking around next season to be part of the first-team set-up.
Along with Cordero at the U19s Euros, Newcastle are being well represented at the U21 competition too, with Will Osula scoring for fun for Denmark and Tino Livramento being England's most consistent performer. The future is definitely looking good.
