Newcastle United have once again entered a side into the HK Soccer Sevens tournament - a seven-a-side tournament held each year in Hong Kong.

The Magpies are two-times winners of the tournament with Tai Po one of last year's finalists losing out to Aston Villa.

Newcastle's squad is made up of Adam Harrison in goal, Logan Watts, Harry Powell, Alfie Harrison, James Huntley, Johnny Emerson, Darren Palmer, Dylan Stephenson, Sean Neave and Joe Brayson.

There may be a couple of familiar names in there with Adam Harrison and Dylan Stephenson finding themselves on the first-team bench on occasion this season and Alfie Harrison being our sole addition in the January window signing from Manchester City.

Alfie Harrison and co made this one look easy

The matches in the tournament last 15 minutes - seven minutes a half with a minute break in between.

Newcastle dominated the game against Tai Po, in fact they made Tai Po look like our team that played the A-League All Stars on Friday - yes I'm still bitter, what of it?

Alfie Harrison (not Dylan Stephenson as the commentator would have you believe) opened the scoring for the Magpies with a superb sweeping shot, then turned provider for the real Stephenson late in the first half.

Sean Neave rounded off the scoring for Newcastle in the second half with a brilliant solo effort high into the top corner.

The tournament is set to play out over this weekend and you can watch all the action on the HK Soccer Sevens YouTube Channel.

The win over Tai Po was followed by a 1-1 draw with Leicester City with Johnny Emerson getting on the scoresheet in that one. Then they finished the group with a goalless draw against Singapore Cricket Club and booked their spot in the quarter-final by finishing second in their group.
