As much as we don't like international breaks this one has been very good for Newcastle United's internationals.

Alexander Isak managed three goals in two games, Sando Tonali made a triumphant return to action for Italy with a stunning assist in his first game back, Will Osula scored for Denmark U21s and Trevan Sanusi bagged for England U18s.

Last night Lewis Hall played the full 90 minutes for England U21s and helped himself to a couple of tidy assists while he was at it as England ran out 4-1 winners over Austria.

With England having trouble with left-backs, Hall has a fantastic opportunity to build on this performance and break into the senior side.

Lewis Hall grafted hard last season to get "Eddie Howe Fit"

Lewis Hall didn't have the season he likely envisioned for himself during the last campaign being restricted to just a handful of chances following his dream move from Chelsea to the club he supported as a boy.

However, he worked hard to get up to speed and was used more often towards the end of the season where you could see the improvement.

Now Hall and new signing Lloyd Kelly look to be competing for the left-back spot and after last night's performance, Hall will be feeling confident going into this Sunday's fixture against Wolves.

Fans see Lewis Hall as the answer to England's left-back problem

Fans are already talking about Hall being the answer to England's left-back shortage, although we feel he's got a bit of work to do to get to that level.

As long as Eddie Howe persists with him this season though, it's not beyond the realms of possibility at all.

Tonight we'll see if his fellow Newcastle full-back Tino Livramento will make his England debut as the Three Lions take on Finland.
