Newcastle United host Fulham at St James' Park on Saturday in a non-televised 3pm kick-off in the Premier League.

Eddie Howe will be hoping his lads can put in a big confidence-boosting performance to set them up nicely for the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg on Wednesday night when Arsenal come to visit St James' Park, lumbering their two-goal deficit with them.

Fulham got the upper hand over Newcastle at Craven Cottage earlier in the season and will be looking to repeat the feat on Saturday.

Nottingham Forest and Brighton are the early kick-off and if Brighton can grab a victory in that game, a win for Newcastle will send them above Forest on goal difference.

Chris Sutton expects plenty of goals at St James' Park on Saturday

Chris Sutton has written his column for the BBC and is predicting plenty of goals at St James' Park as he expects a reverse of the Craven Cottage result.

"Fulham are another team I am finding very hard to predict, but Newcastle are a lot more reliable.

"Yes, they were walloped by Bournemouth last time out at St James' Park, but before then they had won five in a row at home in all competitions.

"Fulham are capable of causing them problems and showed that when they beat them 3-1 at Craven Cottage in September.

"But I am going to go for a reverse of that scoreline here. Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon are in excellent form and they will make the difference.

A reverse of the Craven Cottage scoreline would be spiffing

It's hard to bet against Alexander Isak scoring right now so we'll hopefully see him extend his impressive goals-per-game ratio.

Fulham are a team we should be beating comfortably at home. In fairness, they're a team we should be beating away too, but we failed to do that, although that was a very different Newcastle United to the one that's playing now in terms of belief.
