Newcastle United's 19-year-old winger Yankuba Minteh once again strengthened his case to be involved in Eddie Howe's side next season after scoring again for his loan club, Feyenoord.

Yankuba Minteh joined Feyenoord on loan moments after signing his Newcastle United contract, and as such, it wasn't even until he picked up an injury around Christmas time that the Gambian even visited Newcastle.

Minteh took his goal tally to six in the Eredivisie this season with a coolly taken goal against table-toppers PSV adding to the calls for Newcastle to keep hold of the winger next season rather than loaning him out again.

We are getting more and more excited about Minteh

It's not all been heaps of praise for Minteh this season with the Dutch media often getting on his case for his decision-making and some outlets accusing him of being lazy.

That being said, laziness and poor decision-making were nowhere to be seen as Minteh evened up the score for Feyenoord against PSV yesterday.

The youngster was on his toes as he pounced on a PSV defender who was dawdling on the ball just outside the 18-yard box. Minteh dispossessed his man and then calmly rounded the keeper before placing the ball into an open goal despite pressure from the PSV defence.

There was a Newcastle connection on both sides in the game

Minteh was also involved in Feyenoord's second goal, being part of the move that ultimately led to the goal that put Feyenoord into the lead. It was another player with Newcastle connections who was involved with PSV's equaliser with Luuk De Jong providing the assist for the goal that squared the game which ended 2-2.

With Miguel Almiron's future at Newcastle uncertain, it is looking more and more like we have his replacement already on the books.

Whether he will be ready to play regularly in the Premier League is a call Eddie Howe will have to make, but we really hope that he's given a chance to break into the first-team next season rather than another club getting the benefit of his services again.
