Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has praised NUFC Women's head coach Becky Langley for her "incredibly difficult" achievements during her time at the club.
Langley aims to secure back to back promotions for the Lasses this Sunday as they take on Huddersfield Town Women at Kingston Park.
NUFC Women are on the verge of reaching the Women's Championship for the first time in their history, a league which has a number of attractive matches.
North East clubs Sunderland and Durham play in the Championship. The Black Cats currently sit at the top of the table, Durham are ninth, just four points off the relegation places.
On his relationship with Langley, Howe said: "We're in regular communication. I have a lot of respect and admiration for her and the job she's done.
"Back to back promotions, for anybody, is incredibly difficult. I like the way she way she conducts herself and the way she speaks, she's very knowledgeable about the game.
"We want to build that relationship and good luck to her and the girls in the next game.
"It's so good for everyone connected with the club. For young girls aspiring to be footballers in the future, the more high profile the game can be here, the more opportunities they may well get to play and improve."
On the improvements for the team, Howe said: "Throughout the club we're trying to improve the facilities for everybody and I think that's the next step for the club.
"Hopefully we can improve the environment for them and the club can continue to grow in that way."
