Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United will be the other English clubs likely to be interested in Jonathan David, and there are likely to be others too. It's going to be quite the scramble.

This season, Jonathan David has scored 25 goals and laid on 12 assists in 47 games for Lille, which is Alexander Isak's number.

Not only is Jonathan David a top striker who could be an amazing signing for Newcastle, but the lack of a transfer fee will allow the Magpies to spend bigger elsewhere, such as on the right wing and centre-back.

However, convincing a player of David's standing to come and compete for a place in the starting XI with Alexander Isak is going to be a gargantuan task that we just don't see Newcastle being able to overcome.
