Eddie Howe spoke to the gathered media on Friday morning ahead of Newcastle United's Premier League tie against Fulham at St James' Park on Saturday.

Newcastle are hoping to build on their Champions League win in midweek, and after coming through the game with no new injury concerns, they should be feeling pretty good going into Saturday's match.

It's not a clean bill of health for Newcastle, by any means, however, with several important players ruled out of the game already.

Tino Livramento, Lewis Hall and Yoane Wissa are all confirmed absentees, although Wissa is expected to be back in contention next week. Hall and Livramento are both on track for their expected return dates.

No wonder he got ill. Put a shirt on, Sandro!

Eddie Howe gives an update on Sandro Tonali after missing out on Tuesday's game

Sandro Tonali sat out the win over Benfica on Tuesday after feeling ill before the game, although the Italian was on the bench.

Eddie Howe confirmed to the press on Friday that Tonali has returned to training but isn't 100%.

"We are still monitoring Sandro. He did train on Wednesday but wasn't 100% so he is touch and go for the game."

We know your ways, Eddie

We expect that 'touch and go' was just to throw off Marco Silva, and Tonali is likely to start tomorrow.

What will be interesting is who will start on the left side of that midfield trio. Jacob Ramsey did well on Tuesday after replacing Joelinton following his poor showing against Brighton.

However, when Joelinton was introduced on Tuesday night, he looked back to his best, so now Eddie Howe has a huge call to make.
