Three Newcastle United fixtures moved for live TV coverage in April

The TV overlords have made their selections for the April fixture list with Newcastle United being picked for three games to be shown on Sky Sports.

Newcastle often find their fixtures moved at the whims of the TV rights broadcasters. Thankfully, so far this season the changes have come with plenty of notice and now the latest fixtures to be moved are all in April, giving fans ample time to change plans.

If Newcastle are still involved in the race for the top four beyond these games, we expect that fixtures could be moved at shorter notice as it'll be expected that Liverpool will have the title sewn up so the top four race will be the next point of interest.

For now, though, we've got to deal with the three games which have been moved in April.

Newcastle have three fixtures in April set for broadcast on Sky Sports

As confirmed by the official website, the games against Leicester City, Manchester United and Aston Villa have all been selected for broadcast on Sky Sports leading to a change of date and time.

Leicester City (A) moves from Saturday 5th April 3pm to Monday 7th April 7pm

Manchester United (H) moves from Saturday 13th April 3pm to Sunday 14th April 4:30pm

Aston Villa (A) moves from Saturday 18th April moves from a 3pm kick-off to a 5:30pm kick-off on the same day.

We suspect the TV Overlords aren't done with our fixture list just yet

As fixture changes go, these aren't the most egregious that Newcastle fans have had to deal with in recent seasons, with many London games being moved to late kick-offs or midweek travel nightmares in the past.

Hopefully there's been enough notice for fans to amend their plans in good time.
