Newcastle United have today confirmed that three more upcoming fixtures have been moved at the behest of the TV Overlords.
Sky Sports and TNT Sport do love to mess with our fixture list lately. It's fantastic from a revenue point of view, and for fans who can't attend games, but it has recently been a nightmare for fans who travel to the matches up and down the country.
Several times last season our games were moved to insanely inconvenient dates and times for people using public transport.
Today's fixture changes are for games from November onwards so it's not as bad as some of the games last season, however, it tends to be the games in the second half of the season when the results matter more to the league standings that last-minute decisions are made by Sky and TNT.
The club confirmed today via the official website that the upcoming trips to Arsenal and Nottingham Forest and the visit of West Ham will now be shown on TV.
Newcastle's trip to Arsenal on 2nd November has been brought forward from 3pm to 12:30pm for TNT Sports meaning those travelling from the North East need to get their alarm clocks set extra early.
The following week's game against Nottingham Forest was originally slated for 3pm on Saturday 9th November will now be played on Sunday 10th November at 2pm on Sky Sports.
Finally, West Ham will now come to St James' Park on Monday 25th November for an 8pm kick-off live on Sky Sports which, while it doesn't affect Newcastle supporters as much, is a disgraceful time to have a game between Newcastle and a London club given how hard it is to get back home after the match.
This now means that eight of Newcastle's next 11 fixtures will be shown live on TV before we get to the Christmas fixtures.
Massive thanks to NUFCBlog for writing up the list:
