Three goals in 25 minutes for young Newcastle United striker will definitely have caught Eddie Howe's attention
Newcastle United's Under 21s took on Boston United in the National League Cup on Wednesday evening in Lincolnshire.
The young Newcastle side emerged victorious against the National League side at the Jakesmans Stadium with an impressive 3-1 win thanks to a first-half hat-trick from Sean Neave.
Sean Neave has the honour of holding a Carabao Cup Winner's medal after sitting on the bench for Newcastle at Wembley in March as they beat Liverpool.
The 18-year-old has flirted with the first team under Eddie Howe, having been named on the bench in a few games. He was also used during the pre-season so that Howe could get a good look at the young prodigy.
Sean Neave sent a strong message to Eddie Howe last night
Opening the scoring for Newcastle from the penalty spot in the 16th minute, Sean Neave went on to cancel out a Boston equaliser and then add a third in under 25 minutes.
A first-half hat-trick will certainly have caught the eye of Eddie Howe, who is hoping that Neave's development will continue to rise exponentially and see him break into the first team soon.
Meanwhile, summer signing Park Seung-soo, who impressed fans with two stellar performances in Asia in pre-season, also had a good game for the stiffs, clocking up an assist for Neave's third after beating two players and delivering a pinpoint pass.
Newcastle have some exciting talent to come through the ranks
When we've seen Neave in action for the first team, he hasn't quite looked ready to make that step up yet, but it's all about learning and growing in the under 21s and this display won't have hurt at all.
With Neave and Park, along with other youngsters like Alex Murphy, not to mention new signings Miodrag Pivas and Antonio Cordero, we've got some exciting players to come through at Newcastle.
