Thomas Tuchel has named his latest England squad, with Newcastle United set to lose two English players to international duty over the next break.

Tino Livramento has obviously missed out on this squad after picking up a knee injury in the game against Arsenal last weekend.

The full-back is expected to miss up to eight weeks due to the nature of the injury, but given that Newcastle were braced for the worst news when he was stretchered off the pitch on Sunday, an eight-week lay-off has been received as good news.

There's still no space in the England squad for Nick Pope despite his top performances for Newcastle so far this season.

Thomas Tuchel has called on Dan Burn and Anthony Gordon

Thomas Tuchel is clearly biding his time when it comes to Lewis Hall as the left-back is now back to fitness, but hasn't yet been given a decent run in the side for the England manager to assess.

The players who have been called up are Dan Burn and Anthony Gordon, who have become regulars under Tuchel's short reign, with the German gaffer a big fan of what Burn brings to the squad, both on and off the pitch.

The Three Lions will take on Wales and Latvia later this month. Wembley will host the friendly in support of the Alzheimer's Society on the 9th October, where they will take on Wales, but then it's back to the serious stuff as England take on Latvia in the World Cup Qualifiers in Riga on Tuesday, 14th October.

This international break is good for the players recovering from injury

The games will both be shown on ITV for those of us who like to torture ourselves by watching England in low-stakes games.

This is one of those rare occasions where an international break is welcomed. Newcastle's fixture list has been non-stop, so having a bit of a chance to have a breather is good, even though so many of our squad will be away on international duty.

Tino Livramento, Yoane Wissa and Jacob Ramsey all get time to recover from injury without missing out on matches, though, and that can only be seen as a good thing.

To those of you who noticed the alliteration in the headline and the fact that every paragraph started with the letter T in this entire article, I thank you. To those who didn't notice or didn't care, I still thank you too; you're reading it, and that's what matters.
