Eddie Howe returns to his old stomping ground for the fourth time as Newcastle United boss as the former Bournemouth gaffer goes in search of his first win at the Vitality Stadium as Toon boss.

The Magpies are yet to come away from Bournemouth with all three points under Howe, but hopefully he's non-verbal agreement to not win as a visiting boss has now expired. (That's obviously not a thing that exists for those who are sarcastically challenged).

Bournemouth have become quite a formidable force under Andoni Iraola, and even despite losing Dean Hujsen, Illya Zabarnyi and Milos Kerkez, the Cherries are still solid at the back.

They're not too shabby up front either, which is why they currently occupy fourth spot in the Premier League ahead of the weekend's fixtures.

Chris Sutton says anything could happen on Sunday

The BBC's Chris Sutton says that every outcome is feasible on Sunday, but the former Blackburn forward ultimately decided to back the home side in his prediction.

"This is tough because you could make an argument for every outcome, but I am going to back Bournemouth.

"I have been impressed by the Cherries so far, in defence and attack, and although Newcastle beat Wolves last time out, they have not really got going yet.

"Former Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe is yet to win at Vitality Stadium in three visits with Newcastle, and he is going to have to wait a little longer for his first success.

The Vitality is a haunted playground for Newcastle

We agree that literally anything could happen in this one, but we'd be lying if we weren't concerned about our record at the Vitality under Howe.

Of course, nothing lasts forever, and Newcastle were great at ending streaks last season, so this is one that needs to be broken.

We have the talent and we have the ability. There's no real reason why we can't get a win, but we'll have to see if our inability to create clear chances is going to follow us to the south coast.
