There has been a bizarre reaction to Newcastle's away kit release date tease

This morning we mentioned that Newcastle United have teased the release date for the much-anticipated Adidas away kit.

The kit that has been inspired by the first Adidas away kit from the 1990's has been met with a lot of excitement since the images started leaking online a couple of months ago.

Judging by the popularity of the home and third kits, we expect that the away kit will also be extremely popular.

You might think then, that the replies to the Club's tease on X would be full of people expressing their delight at finally knowing when they can slip the shirt over their heads and wear them with pride.

Then we remembered this is Newcastle United, where the most vocal fans tend to type before they think.

The replies are awash with the same message - "Where are the signings?"

Why would the person who runs the NUFC X account know where the signings are? Why does everything the club posts have to be about new players? Would these people prefer that they released the shirt and just didn't tell anybody? I honestly don't see the logic here.

One guy seemed to be genuinely pissed off that we were releasing another shirt at all - we'll just play skins away from home eh?

Newcastle are clearly still working on a deal for Marc Guehi - advertising a shirt release doesn't change that

Newcastle World pointed this out in an article so we went and had a look for ourselves and couldn't believe what we were seeing.

We know the situation with Marc Guehi, Sky Sports just gave us an update on that. We've got people saying "Announce Guehi" ... announce what? He's still a Crystal Palace player!!

It's cool, though, if enough people tell the social media admin to announce Guehi, that'll push the club to paying what Palace want.
