TalkSPORT are quite obsessed with the idea of Alexander Isak joining Liverpool right now and once again Newcastle United are practically being told to be grateful and take the money.
Newcastle chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan informed the board to resist all approaches for Isak this summer which is a stance that probably didn't need to be reiterated, but now that it's come down from the top of the tree, the board had better adhere to it.
As much as Newcastle want to keep Isak, there has also been nothing from the player's side to suggest that he wants to leave either.
If Newcastle were to sell their star player, we highly doubt they'd want to sell him to a direct rival either. So none of the talk makes sense in reality, but it does make a for a fun fantasy for journalists and pundits to discuss.
Chief TalkSPORT gobshite Jason Cundy has now claimed that Alexander Isak should jump at the chance to join Liverpool and that his arrival would guarantee Liverpool the title again next year, which seems to be a common theme amongst pundits - Whoever has Alexander Isak wins the league but not Newcastle.
"They're going to get a huge fee for him Newcastle, they will, because he's one of the most sought after players in Europe. We've seen what he can do in the Premier League, there's no risk. If he signs for Liverpool they know he's going to perform.
"In terms of Newcastle they've got to get as much money for him, if that's the case, it's not going to be less than £120 million."
Once again, absolutely no mention of Newcastle having any say in the matter. Just take the money and be happy.
A Newcastle fan rang into the show and gave a fairly balanced answer when asked if he'd take £120 million, saying that Newcastle are bigger than any one player, but later saying that he wouldn't want to see Isak be sold.
In a way, I agree with what that fan was saying. No player should be seen as bigger than the club, and if they start to agitate for a move, we shouldn't let them disrupt the dressing room.
However, once again, it's worth reiterating that as far as we're aware, Alexander Isak has no designs on leaving Newcastle, he's not making a fuss, contract talks are due to start again, so we really only have the media to worry about.
As we said earlier today, we'll let them have today and they can discuss Isak leaving all day to get it all out of their system, but tomorrow if the media can come back to reality and forget about the idea of Alexander Isak leaving Newcastle, that would be spiffing.
