Eddie Howe has thrown up a couple of surprises with his team selection to face Chelsea tonight.
Newcastle United are in Carabao Cup quarter-final action tonight against their third Premier League opposition in a row having already knocked out both Manchester clubs.
We deliberated over a few different possible lineups when we did our predicted XI, but Eddie Howe has caught us off guard with his selection.
We got the midfield and forwards spot on, but as we expected, the defence would be the hardest part to predict and that ended up being the case.
Kieran Trippier is on the bench tonight as Emil Krafth, who was excellent on Saturday against Fulham is in from the start.
We expected Dan Burn to start at centre-back over Sven Botman who is back in contention after a three-month absence. However, Howe has decided that the Dutchman is fit enough to start tonight's game. That should give the side a massive boost.
Meanwhile, Christopher Nkunku makes the bench for Chelsea and could be in line to make his debut for the Blues after his £52million summer switch.
As he promised, Mauricio Pochettino has put out a strong team which includes Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez and Cole Palmer.
It promises to be an extremely intriguing match and a winner must be found tonight with the game going straight to penalties should the teams be tied at full-time.
