Lewis Miley played his way into Eddie Howe's first team recently and now there's another youngster hoping to follow that path.

Having only just signed a professional contract with the club, 17-year-old Sean Neave already has his sights set on the Premier League.

The England U17 international is scoring for fun for Newcastle U21s at the minute and Eddie Howe is starting to take note.

Neave has eight goals in seven games with six of those goals coming in the form of two hat tricks.

Sean Neave has dreamt of playing for Newcastle since he was a kid

Sean Neave has told The Chronicle that it was always his dream to play for Newcastle and signing a professional contract with the club he loves was 'surreal'.

"Ever since I was young, it’s been my dream to play for Newcastle United so to sign a professional deal here is surreal.

"I was really pleased to make my debut for the under-21s as it means next year, I can push on and try to make a few more appearances and hopefully score a few goals. Making my international debut was a really proud moment for me and my family. Playing for your country is one of the biggest things in football and I’m hoping that, next season, I can gain more appearances for England.

"I’m more than happy about my goals this season at under-18 level and I was really pleased to be the top goalscorer at the club. I’m hoping I can push on, score a few more next season and be up there with the top goalscorers in the league."

A Geordie centre-forward scoring for Newcastle - We can't wait

With Newcastle's love of a good centre-forward, if Neave can continue this type of goalscoring form, the future looks very bright for the youngster.

We're probably only a slight knock to Alexander Isak away from calling him up to the first team as cover as things stand as who knows if/when Callum Wilson will return.

It's likely way too soon for Eddie Howe to be contemplating a call to the first-team, we've seen how gently he's treating 21-year-old Will Osula, we're not sure there's enough cotton wool in Newcastle for how he'd look to treat an academy player.
