Eddie Howe is on the hunt for a new striker to bring to Newcastle United this summer and one name is persistently linked with a move to Tyneside.
Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke is coming off this best Premier League season so far and his 19 league goals have caught the eye of some big hitters.
The former Chelsea and Liverpool man was once tipped to be the next big thing, but after moving from the former to the latter, his career fizzled out resulting in Eddie Howe scooping him for Bournemouth.
Things still didn't go too well for Solanke at Bournemouth for years, but last season everything just clicked and the footballing world was reminded why he was so hyped as a youngster.
Now Eddie Howe and Solanke have been tipped for a reunion, but the Magpies face some huge hurdles.
Solanke has a £65million release clause in his Bournemouth contract which is steep to begin with and Newcastle would be unlikely to want to pay anywhere near that, but even if they were ... they couldn't.
According to The Chronicle, the clause can only be activated by the "big six" clubs - Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool. Manchester City, Manchester United or Tottenham.
Whether any of those clubs would be willing to pay £65million for Solanke is also doubtful. If any of them would, it would likely be Chelsea as they don't see to know what value means.
We're just going to take solace in the fact that last season could have just been a fluke for The Cherries striker, so if we don't sign him it's fine.
Of course, if we do end up bidding for him, then we're in for one of the best strikers in the Premier League. That's how this works.
