There has been more chatter about Alexander Isak's situation at Newcastle United on TalkSPORT, and once again, it's not going in the Swede's favour.

While there have been some journalists and pundits who have defended Isak's right to go on strike to force through a move, the overwhelming majority have criticised the 25-year-old for the way he has conducted himself this summer.

At the end of the day, Alexander Isak is still contracted to Newcastle United, so from a legal standpoint, he's not got a leg to stand on if the Magpies were to tell him to get back to work and play this weekend.

That won't happen, though, as the club is still hopeful of a more amicable resolution amid a dogged determination to keep him at the club.

Sam Allardyce has taken up arms against football agents

Now, former Newcastle boss Sam Allardyce has been on a big rant on TalkSPORT, talking about how players and agents have too much power and something needs to be done about that.

“We’ve got to talk about the agents. The agents need some real sorting out for me because the agents are behind this. In my opinion, the agents will be telling the player, ‘don’t go in, refuse to play, and then we’ll get you away’.

“They’ll stay in communication with the club that wants him over that basis until such time as that club moves in again with a slightly higher bit or not.

“It’s too much power with the player and too much power with the agents, and something has to be done about it, certainly with the sort of money that’s escalating again. Wages and transfer fees are escalating beyond recognition.

“I think that should have been controlled years and years ago, but it’s run away with everybody, and everybody gets frightened, and everybody starts splashing out money that not only massive in terms of the transfer fee, but contracts are bigger than transfer fees. So they need to stand up somewhere, or the rules need to be changed.”

We can't believe we agreed with Gabby Agbonlahor yesterday and now Sam Allardyce

It has been heavily speculated that football crook Vlado Lemic is likely the man pulling the strings from the background.

As we suggested in an earlier article, if Isak is told to stay and he wants to worm his way back into the playing squad, he needs to fire his representation and pin all the blame on them while making the most cringe-inducing grovelling apology imaginable.

In the meantime, we believe that Allardyce does have a point. Agents have long been said to be ruining the game, and they're only making it worse. Something definitely needs to be done about that.
