Newcastle United were less than hopeless against Manchester City tonight, but it never felt like anything was going to go our way tonight long before the game kicked off.

However, before the game got underway, Sky Sports revealed a stat about Newcastle's season that absolutely sums up just how awful we have been this season.

Sky claims that Newcastle have played 451 crosses into the box this season, and we've scored just once from a cross, and that was Nick Woltemade's first goal for the club.

How is that even possible? We have a 6'6" striker, and we can't get him to meet any balls into the area?

Is a move for Roberto De Zerbi worth a shout?

Alan Shearer has ranted about our crossing a few times

Alan Shearer has had a couple of rants about the crosses going in and nobody meeting them. We've mentioned it a couple of times, too, but honestly, we had no idea just how bad it was.

As I write this, I'm listening to Chris on the Ever More YouTube channel doing his post-match rant, and he's speaking so much truth. I can't post it here because the language is far too fruity, but check it out if you have the time.

Anyone who has been a regular reader here will know how I've always gone to bat for Eddie Howe and, while that belief has wavered of late, my only real reason for keeping him is that I just don't feel there's anyone better out there for us right now.

Is is time for Eddie Howe to go?

Howe Out?

After recent results, and more importantly, recent performances, I am leaning more and more towards the Howe Out camp, and this stat about the crosses is not helping bring me back.

Is it time for a change? We never want to be another trigger-happy club that changes their manager every other week, but how many more chances does he need?

Of course, you could easily say that we've got lots of injuries and a tired squad, but everything is just so stale. I may feel differently in the morning, but right now, we have to be considering a change, right?
