Newcastle United could maybe feel a bit hard done by after Alexander Isak had the ball in the back of the net only for the linesman's flag to go up and rule it out for offside.
Alexander Isak wasn't the offending player as the Swede had managed to stay behind the last defender before making his move to fire home, but Bruno Guimaraes was deemed to be obstructing the goalkeeper's view during the buildup.
There was absolutely no doubt that Bruno was in an offside position, but it was a big question of whether or not he was interfering with play.
Standing in the six-yard box in front of Caoimhin Kelleher, you could argue. that he was obstructing the Liverpool stopper. However, he was able to get down and save the initial shot, which he then parried into the path of Isak, who put it in the net.
As is often the case on a Monday, Sky Sports News had former referee Dermot Gallagher in the studio to go over the weekend's controversial decisions, and after immediately waving away any suggestion that Liverpool should have had a penalty for the ball hitting Kieran Trippier's hand, they moved on to the disallowed goal.
Dermot Gallagher, along with Stephen Warnock and Sue Smith all agreed that the decision to rule out Isak's goal was the right one, saying that Kelleher palming the ball out to Isak was as a direct result of his sight being blocked by Bruno Guimaraes.
"If you watch, he has to go around Guimaraes. I have a theory that if a player is in front of the goalkeeper in that six-yard area he's got to be in that goalkeeper's vision. If you look at Kelleher, he has to go around him. And by going around him he loses sight of the ball for a small while.
"He does (make the save) but, can he make a cleaner save if he's not there? We'll never know, but I think he's in his line of vision."
Gallagher's explanation was agreed with by Warnock and Smith, but the fact that Kelleher made the initial save still says to me that he had sight of the ball.
You can't say with any degree of certainty that he wouldn't have palmed it away if Bruno wasn't there, you're just guessing at a different outcome.
In the end, though, it didn't matter as less than two minutes later Alexander Isak had the ball in the net again and there was no ruling that one out.
Did we mention that Newcastle went on to lift the Carabao Cup trophy after that?
