Sela close out Newcastle United's league cup celebrations with spectacular drone display over Town Moor

Newcastle United celebrated their first domestic trophy in 70 years in some style today as the team rode an open-top bus through the city before taking to the stage at the Town Moor to address the fans and show off the League Cup trophy.

Hundreds of thousands of Geordies lined the streets to watch the bus pass through the city with thousands more awaiting its arrival on the Town Moor.

Fans who went to the Town Moor early got to watch the entire Carabao Cup final again on the big screens and got to see Sir Les Ferdinand and Alan Shearer hosted by Pete Graves and Lynsey Hipgrave as well as other guests and some live music.

But the party really got going when the team, along with Ant and Dec turned up to the event and took to the stage to show off the club's shiny new silverware.

Bruno Guimaraes stole the show by grabbing the mic from Ant and starting off chants with the team, often choosing the less family-friendly ones much to the frustration of Ant & Dec.

The one aspect of the celebrations that was kept secret was the surprise organised by Newcastle's front-of-shirt sponsors, Saudi-based entertainment company, Sela.

Sela put on a stunning drone display ahead of Newcastle's return to Champions League action at St James' Park, but the display they put on tonight topped that one.

Despite the windy conditions, the drone show went ahead as planned with the little electronic buzzards lit up the sky recreating moving images of Dan Burn and Alexander Isak's goals.

A couple of drones took nosedives out of formation, but it didn't spoil the overall effect with the club crest, a Sela-sponsored shirt, and the trophy itself recreated in lights.

The partnership between Sela and Newcastle United has been the most awarded sponsorship in the world and through things like this, it's definitely one of the better ones we've seen on Tyneside. Sela have gone above and beyond since partnering with the club.
