Sean Longstaff leaves one last impression on Newcastle United as new signing ruled out for a month
Newcastle United's last time out saw them play a pretty dull 0-0 draw with Leeds United.
Perhaps the only real talking point from the game was the disappearing act done by new signing Jacob Ramsey at halftime.
The former Aston Villa man was making his full debut in the absence of Joelinton and looked lively in the first 45 minutes, but failed to reappear after the break.
Ramsey had taken a knock in a challenge with the man he replaced at Newcastle, Sean Longstaff, who was facing his old club for the first time.
Eddie Howe expects Jacob Ramsey won't be seen until after the next international break
Eddie Howe later confirmed that Ramsey's ankle had swollen as a result of the coming together, which is why he didn't reappear for the second half.
It didn't seem too bad at the time, but Howe has confirmed in his press conference this morning that Ramsey will be absent for a while.
"Jacob Ramsey will miss the game after suffering from that tackle against Leeds. His ankle is swollen and unfortunately I think he will be missing until the last international break. Joe is fit and available and been out on the training pitch so it's great to have him back."
Joelinton is likely to slot straight back into the starting lineup
The good news is that Joelinton is back in contention for a start tomorrow, which takes a bit of pressure off.
However, there is a chance that Bruno Guimaraes won't be in the starting lineup after his taxing midweek fixture in the mountains of Bolivia, followed by the journey back to the North East.
There's a good chance he at least makes the bench, but we're not confident the captain will start the game, especially with Barcelona coming up so soon after.
