All week, Newcastle United have had to deal with rumours suggesting that Sandro Tonali's future at the club may be shorter than they'd like.

It all kicked off with a rumour on transfer deadline day that Arsenal were going to make a last-minute bid to sign the talented midfielder.

Those claims were rubbished, but that was all it took to open Pandora's box, and now Tonali's agent, Giuseppe Riso has done very little to help the situation.

Earlier in the week, Riso denied contacting Arsenal about a move, but went on to say that they'd be looking at Tonali's valuation in March, suggesting he's working on a summer move.

Hew, Sandro, get yourself a new agent, eh?

Giuseppe Riso has been speaking about Tonali's future again

Now Riso has spoken to TuttoSport about Tonali's future, and he's once again dropped heavy hints that Tonali could be on the move at the end of this season.

“Newcastle are having a hard time letting go of Sandro, and he wants to lead the club to the Champions League.

“These transfer discussions will take place later. We’ll see how the season ends and then we’ll decide what to do.”

Was something lost in translation or is Sandro Tonali pushing for an exit?

Riso did go on to say that Tonali is attached to Newcastle, and we want to say that his actual meaning has just been lost in translation, and he's not really suggesting that Newcastle are holding him back and he wants to go, but that's how it reads.

Our view, however, is that Riso should just keep his mouth shut. Tonali's form hasn't exactly been great this season, and all of this speculation isn't going to help. If Tonali's poor form continues, nobody will even want him in the summer.

I mean, I wish that were true. He's Sandro Tonali. Everyone is going to want him. Form is temporary, and all that, but still, Giuseppe Riso isn't doing Sandro any favours at all.
