Newcastle United are at Molineux on Sunday for a 2 pm kick-off against Wolverhampton Wanderers live on Sky Sports.

The gap between Tuesday night's defeat to Manchester City and Sunday's game must feel like a holiday for the Magpies, who have had so many games in rapid succession of late.

We expect that this rest will give Eddie Howe the potential to change things up in a way that he wants to, rather than one he's forced into.

Fatigue will still be an issue for sure, but not as much as it would have been had the City game been on Wednesday night or this game been scheduled for Saturday, so we expect some changes, but not wholesale.

Goalkeeper

Nick Pope - We thought Aaron Ramsdale would have been given the nod in the Carabao Cup, but Howe went with Pope, who will keep his place for Sunday.

Defenders

Kieran Trippier - Eddie Howe likes to protect Lewis Miley, so with Trippier fit again, he will rest the youngster, at least for the majority of this game.

Malick Thiaw - The German is going for Bruno Guimaraes' levels of consecutive starts. As long as he can handle it, though, more power to him.

Sven Botman - We're worried about the fragile Dutchman playing so many games in a row, but what other choice do we have while we refuse to splash some cash?

Lewis Hall - Probably the first name on the teamsheet these days. Solid at the back, dangerous going forward. Just all-round class.

Midfielders

Bruno Guimaraes (c) - Bruno is always ready to go again.

Sandro Tonali - New father, Sandro was a force of nature against Bournemouth and sat out most of the City game. He should be fine to go again.

Joelinton - Eddie Howe's 'snarling' midfielder has rediscovered his form. Having the main trio back together could be the key to winning this one.

Forwards

Anthony Elanga - We've gone with Elanga here just after Eddie Howe's words of encouragement on Friday morning, but there's a big chance Harvey Barnes plays.

Yoane Wissa - Seems to be preferred to Nick Woltemade right now.

Anthony Gordon - We're starting to see a bit more from the Golden Boy, and rumours are he's had a trim, so without that mop in his eyes, he might actually put in a good performance.
