Rumours intensify over Newcastle's interest in 'unbelievable' 21-year-old Premier League star

Newcastle United certainly must be feeling feisty if this transfer rumour is to be believed.

Over the weekend a frankly bizarre story emerged suggesting that Manchester City would offer either Oscar Bobb or Rico Lewis to Newcastle on loan as part of a bid to buy Bruno Guimaraes.

We laughed it off as a complete load of nonsense, but it was borne out of some truth - that being that Newcastle hold an interest in 21-year-old Oscar Bobb.

Part of that report mentioned that Man City have no intention of selling Bobb or indeed Lewis, hence the offer of a loan, but that's not stopping the rumour mill from turning.

A loan move for Oscar Bobb may not be a bad idea

Give Me Sport are now saying that their sources have told them that the Magpies, Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund are very keen on the Norwegian youngster.

Given what Pep Guardiola said about Oscar Bobb after his cameo at Newcastle calling him 'dynamic', 'outstanding' and 'unbelievable' we can't imagine he'd be overly keen to part with Bobb this summer.

However, that crazy Bruno Guimaraes report does suggest there's a chance that Bobb could be available for loan next season and that's something Newcastle could definitely look at.

Oscar Bobb would be a quality addition to Newcastle's squad

Bobb's versatility makes him the perfect loan signing with him able to play all across the front.

Being a loan signing he wouldn't be the answer to Newcastle's right-wing conundrum for the long term, but he could get us through this season if we fail to find someone to replace Miguel Almiron permanently.

It's probably a long shot, but shy bairns get nowt.
