Roy Keane comes out victorious as Dec tries to wind up former Manchester United captain with dig about Alan Shearer
There is no love lost between Alan Shearer and Roy Keane. The duo had some big battles in the 1990s as Newcastle United and Manchester United's rivalry was at its peak.
Who can forget that time that Shearer got into Keane's head so much that the Irishman completely flipped and tried to instigate a fight with the Toon skipper on the pitch? Magic times.
Despite having been retired for over 20 years now, the two still don't particularly see eye-to-eye with Keane having a pop at Shearer not too long ago for being 'sneaky' and using his elbows.
Ironic that the man famed for his poor attitude and crunching tackles would have to stones to call anyone a dirty player, but here we are.
Roy Keane gets the better of Declan Donnelly on The Overlap
Ant and Dec were guests on The Overlap this week with Roy Keane, Ian Wright, Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher and Mackem Jill Scott. What a comfortable environment that must have been for the Geordie icons.
In a discussion about tattoos, Neville asked Dec what he would get if he were to get one, and the diminutive Geordie stared into Roy Keane's eyes and said I would get 'Shearer 9', much to the amusement of the studio, but Roy Keane won the exchange with his response.
"Would he have his elbow up? When someone's not looking."
Roy Keane is actually one of the more palatable pundits these days
Credit where it's due, that was amusing. To be fair, now that he's not at Manchester United or Sunderland, I quite like Roy Keane. He doesn't sugarcoat anything.
We love to see him as a guest on The Rest Is Football or to have Alan Shearer on The Overlap with him, just to watch the sparks fly.
Surely they don't really hate each other that much anymore, right? Right?
