Reports suggest NUFC have held talks over young Brazilian talent with £100m release clause

Newcastle United are continuing their philosophy of looking for the world's brightest young talents to develop at their academy.

The Magpies have some catching up to do when it comes to the academy and given that it will take a long time, and heavy investment to catch up other teams when it comes to producing local talent, Newcastle are always on the lookout for young talent elsewhere to acquire for development.

Last night it was announced that Newcastle had captured 17-year-old Vakhtang Salia who will officially join the club on his 18th birthday in August while the academy already boasts upcoming talent poached from elsewhere such as Alfie Harrison and Trevan Sanusi.

It now seems as though Newcastle have their eyes set on a young Brazilian who has broken into the Sao Paulo first-team.

Newcastle are now tracking Sao Paulo's William Gomes

Reports from Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte believe that Newcastle are watching 18-year-old William Gomes with interest.

In fact the report suggests that talks have already taken place between the two clubs over a potential deal for Gomes who recently signed a new contract which contains a €120 million (£100 million) release clause.

The versatile forward has two goals in seven games for Sao Paulo in the Brazilian Serie A so far this season playing on either flank.

Bruno and Joelinton could help Newcastle out with this one

We expect that Newcastle won't have to fork out anything anywhere near Gomes' release clause to bring him to England given his lack of top-level experience.

Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton can surely talk to the lad and grease the wheels too.

We're never upset to see Newcastle linked with a Brazilian ... unless it's Antony or Richarlison.
