Newcastle United fans are used to daily speculation over the future of their big-name stars these days.

We survived the relentless speculation regarding Bruno Guimaraes and it eventually died off but now the attention has turned towards striker Alexander Isak.

The fact that Newcastle have deferred offering the Sweden international a new deal seems to have given journalists the green light to start writing about it being a clear indication that he will soon move on from Newcastle and join one of their beloved 'Big Six'.

Chelsea and Arsenal are said to be ready to duke it out for Isak's signature according to TeamTALK (but let's bear in mind that they unironically run with Fichajes stories).

Viktor Gyokeres or Alexander Isak?

Newcastle will sell Alexander Isak to fund a move for Viktor Gyokeres

The latest rumour is that Newcastle have 'named their price' for Isak and that only bids of over £115 million will be enough to tempt Newcastle into selling, as reported by Caught Offside.

The thinking behind this is so that Newcastle can then use that money to land Isak's international teammate, Viktor Gyokeres.

Given that Ruben Amorim's Manchester United are also eyeing Gyokeres and the two have a pre-existing relationship, it sounds like a pretty risky move by Newcastle to sell their star striker in the hope that they can bag another.

Does it makes sense for Newcastle to cash in on Isak to bag Gyokeres?

We don't believe any of this right now, but it does pose a good question.

If Newcastle were guaranteed to land Gyokeres after selling Isak, would you do that deal? Gyokeres is in the form of his life right now but for us the deal doesn't make sense.

Alexander Isak is younger, is also not exactly in poor form, and has proven he can cut it in the Premier League, whereas Gyokeres is scoring freely in Portugal and for Sweden against the likes of Azerbaijan - his time in England saw him sold by Brighton for £1 million. Has he got what it takes to continue his form in the Premier League?

Even at £115 million, we wouldn't sell Isak to do that deal. That's not to say we wouldn't have Viktor Goykeres at Newcastle, we'd just prefer it if he were playing with Isak rather than instead of.
