Newcastle United's Darren Eales will represent the club at a meeting with all the Premier League clubs and the Premier League itself on 22nd November to discuss rule changes in the wake of Manchester City's tribunal victory.

Rules against Associated Party Transactions were hastily shored up shortly after the PIF-backed takeover of Newcastle United went through in 2021 which, along with Profit and Sustainability Rules seriously hampered the PIF's ability to pump money into the club to buy the types of players that would see Newcastle rise to the top of the Premier League.

Many people viewed it as a move to block anyone from upsetting the "Big Six" and to preserve the status quo.

The Premier League probably didn't anticipate that one of those "Big Six" would be the club to turn on them as Manchester City took the Premier League to court over the APT rules, winning their case with the ruled deemed to be unlawful.

St James' Park is still without a big sponsor

The Premier League will meet later this month to discuss rule changes

Now all the clubs are to meet with the Premier League to go over rule changes that Man City and Newcastle will unlock the potential for their partners to pump money into the clubs.

If the rule changes go this way, The Chronicle believes that the PIF will back Newcastle United massively in the transfer market.

It's not likely to be on the scale of what the media were writing about before the takeover happened - it won't allow us to go out and do what the Saudi Pro league sides did and hoover up top talent by offering ridiculous wages.

Newcastle not signing training and stadium sponsors makes sense

PSR will still be in play, but if the PIF are allowed to strike deals with big businesses they own, such as Aramco, then we could see some big sponsors coming into play which will dramatically increase the amount of headroom we have to play with. It's likely why we still haven't seen a stadium sponsor or training ground/kit sponsors come in yet as they've been waiting for a rule change.

With Newcastle still looking to improve several areas of the pitch, that task could become much easier with an injection of sponsorship money.

Fingers are crossed for the outcome later this month to be one that favours Newcastle.
