There are several positions Newcastle United must strengthen this summer and that's before player sales are taken into account.
One position that has been a weak point of late has been left-back. That is despite Eddie Howe bringing in two left-backs and a central defender who now plays in that position since he came into the club. Matt Targett and Lewis Hall sightings are more rare than those of the Loch Ness Monster and Dan Burn has been the cause of a lot of fan frustration this season.
Newcastle will be obligated to hand Chelsea £28million at the end of the season for Lewis Hall whose loan deal has an obligation to buy should Newcastle finish higher than 15th in the Premier League, but there's a strong belief that Howe doesn't trust the youngster defensively just yet.
We also expect that Matt Targett will be moved on in the summer with his permanent move not working out as well as his loan did.
So who are Newcastle looking at to come in and make that position their own?
According to Football Transfers, Newcastle have their eye on Feyenoord defender Quilindschy Hartman, and if he's half as good as his name then take our money now!
Feyenoord currently have Newcastle winger Yankuba Minteh on loan and it is believed that a good relationship was established when negotiating that deal which means Newcastle may be able to leverage that into a deal for the 22-year-old Dutchman.
Football Transfers have estimated that Hartman would be worth around £25million which sounds like a suitable price for a young, talented defender. However, how much Feyenoord rate him as could be a very different story, especially as he's still under contract until June 2026.
Hartman has made 25 Eredivisie appearances this season providing Five assists. Agent Minteh should also be able to feedback on what the player is like in training as well as vouching for his ability on the pitch.
Newcastle are also monitoring Arsenal's Oleksandr Zinchenko as a potential summer transfer which would be a fantastic signing.
