Newcastle United could be set to reignite their interest in 22-year-old French winger currently starring for Crystal Palace.
If the reports are true that Newcastle are about to appoint Dougie Freedman to replace Dan Ashworth then the timing of the latest report from The Daily Mail is very promising indeed.
The Mail is claiming that Newcastle are set to revive their interest in right-winger Michael Olise who is valued at £60million.
Newcastle have had their eye on Olise since before he was snapped up by Crystal Palace and are hoping to convince the France U21 international to join the Toon revolution.
Olise is said to want to play Champions League football after leaving Palace, which obviously Newcastle won't be able to provide next season, however, there's still a chance Newcastle could be playing some form of European football next season and that might be enough to convince Olise that the club is moving in the right direction.
There will be other clubs interested in Olise who can offer Champions League football, however, and that will make things very tricky for the Magpies. Arsenal, Liverpool and both Manchester clubs are tracking the winger which is major competition for Newcastle.
As we've said, if Dougie Freedman, who was responsible for signing Olise for Palace does take the job at Newcastle, then that could certainly go a long way to making the move happen.
The report hints at a clause in Olise's contract that is active this summer but fails to mention what the clause is, but if it means that Newcastle could snap up the forward for under his £60million valuation then who are we to complain?
The Mail mentions other players on Newcastle's radar for that right side of the attack. Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao and Wolves' Pedro Neto are still being eyed by Eddie Howe.
Any one of those three could add a new edge to Eddie Howe's side, but Olise just has the edge over Williams for having Premier League experience, although we can't really go far wrong with either.
