Newcastle United are expected to make an offer for Fenerbahce winger Irfan Kahveci, reports in Turkey suggest.
Newcastle are in the market for a new right winger and Kahveci could be the answer to Eddie Howe's prayers.
The right side of attack is one of the weaker positions in the squad, with Miguel Almiron and Jacob Murphy the two strongest players in that position.
According to Turkiye Gazetsesi, the Magpies face competition from Sevilla and Rennes for his signature.
The Turkish international has played in 45 games in all competitions this season, scoring 18 and assisting 12.
The 28-year-old made eight appearances in the Europa Conference League this season, scoring twice and bagging one assist.
According to WhoScored, Kahveci has many strengths including his crossing, through balls, finishing and free-kick taking to name a few.
These strengths are perfect for a Newcastle side that plays positive football and relies on wing play to get the ball in the box.
The signing of Kahveci would be a good one for Newcastle, but I don't see us holding on to all three right-wingers.
Almiron had interest in Saudi Arabia in the January transfer window and was on his way out before reportedly refusing to leave the club.
With his contract running out in June 2025, this summer is the last window that Newcastle can get a good fee for him. These last few days could be a farewell for Miggy.
