Newcastle United's scouts were among four Premier League delegations sent to watch Napoli midfielder Khvicha Kvaratskhelia on international duty.

It looks like Newcastle are sniffing around Georgian midfielder Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as 90mins reports that the Magpies had representatives watching on as Georgia were beaten 3-1 by Spain on Sunday.

It's definitely not the first time Kvara's name has popped up in connection with Newcastle, although the last time I wrote a report on the links (for a different site) it was to say that the player was completely unmoved upon hearing there was interest from the Toon.

Kvaratskhelia didn't seem to impressed by a move to Newcastle in the summer

It was in the wake of the rumour that PIF had made an £82million bid for the player Jamie Carragher described as 'the most exciting player in Europe'. A report in Italy had suggested that Kvara 'didn't falter' when the story broke.

The 22-year-old is having another fantastic season for Napoli having hit three goals and four assists in their first 11 Serie A games.

After helping Napoli to the Serie A title last season, he opted to stay put in the summer despite interest from around Europe.

That interest hasn't waned, it seems with Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea all sending scouts along with Newcastle at the weekend.

Newcastle could make a move for Kvaratskhelia in the summer

Given the cries of poverty from Newcastle, and how well Kvicha is doing at Napoli, it only makes sense that they are scouting ahead for a summer move as it's highly unlikely he'll go anywhere in January.

Should Newcastle manage to qualify for the Champions League again, this is a move that could well happen. Backed by the money the European competition brings in as well as the start of the new Adidas deal, Newcastle should be in a far better position to look at big-money signings like this one.

Hopefully, anyway, as Kvara is an absolute beast and will definitely end up in the Premier League so far better it be with us.
