Newcastle United are now said to be interested in signing 18-year-old wonderkid Roony Bardghji from FC Copenhagen.

Roony Bardghji just turned 18 last week and he already has 66 first-team appearances for Copenhagen. This season alone he's had 25 outings for his club across all competitions and has bagged 11 goals in the process.

Now Sports Mole has reported that Newcastle is one of the clubs interested in making a move for the winger in January.

Newcastle are just one of several PL clubs chasing Bardghji

It wouldn't be Newcastle's first venture into the Danish league to pluck young talent after taking Yankuba Minteh from OB Odense in the summer.

Chelsea and Brighton are amongst the Premier League sides keeping tabs on Bardghji who wears the name Roony on the back of his shirt.

X account Ftbl Joe posted this evening that Newcastle are 'close to a deal' with the youngster, but reports from elsewhere would suggest that's likely wide of the mark, however, Ftbl Joe did post their story with a video of Roony doing his thing, and this kid looks the business.

The Kuwait-born Swedish international is represented by the same agency as our Under 21 coach Ben Dawson, so hopefully he can put in a good word via his agency.

There's a lot of buzz around the 18-year-old online

A lot of responses to the post are ones of massive excitement and positivity, hoping that this rumour is true, and we can add our voices to that choir.

True to his real-life form he's been noted as being an amazing signing on Football Manager, and they do quite often get it right when they deem someone a wonderkid.

Sports Mole claims that Copenhagen values Roony at £30million and with so many clubs chasing him, they're likely to get that for him. As to whether Newcastle will deem that a wise investment in January with funds apparently so tight, we'll have to wait and see, but hopefully, our board will take the risk as he looks phenomenal.
