Barcelona have now added their name to the list of admirers for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak who has been tracked by Arsenal.

Newcastle have made it abundantly clear that Alexander Isak is off-limits this summer and the striker is also said to be in talks over a new deal to reinforce this fact.

That, however, has never stopped speculation around his future with links to Arsenal refusing to disappear. Now Barcelona are reportedly set to try their luck by offering a part-exchange deal.

Spanish outlet SPORT believes that Barcelona will test Newcastle's resolve by offering a player they've got a known interest in as a part of the deal

Barcelona are hoping a part-exchange will tempt Newcastle

Barcelona could use Andreas Christensen to tempt the Magpies with Newcastle having a long-standing interest in the former Chelsea defender.

28-year-old Christensen has made 38 appearances for Barcelona this season 26 at centre-back and 12 as a defensive midfielder which saw him score three goals.

Newcastle have been keeping tabs on Christensen since last summer but never made a move for the Danish international.

We are pretty confident that there's absolutely no truth in this one

As we've already said, Newcastle have no intention of letting the player Alan Shearer hailed as 'really clever' leave this summer nor does he want to, and given the source of this story, we're pretty confident there is almost zero truth in it.

Reports of Isak's departure keep mentioning £100million price tag which we're sure wouldn't even be enough to secure one of his match-worn socks.

This might now be challenging the Anthony Gordon to Liverpool story just for its sheer brazenness.
