The transfer window in England and Scotland closed at 11pm on Friday night but there are still some markets that are open for business.
That means that Newcastle could still find a new club for certain players if they are willing to move abroad, and one player has reportedly put his name forward for a summer exit.
Kieran Trippier, who retired from international duty on Thursday a couple of hours before the latest squad was announced, was replaced in the England squad by the same man who looks to have replaced him as first-choice right-back at Newcastle - Tino Livramento.
Trippier has been linked with a move away from Newcastle for a few weeks and it seems like he still may go despite the transfer window closing last night.
Turkish journalist Resat Can Ozbudak has shared on X that Trippier has agreed terms with Super Lig side Eyupspor (are they Turkish or a non-league Yorkshire side?). We don't know how legit this guy is but Goal.com picked up on the story, so we thought it may be worth a punt.
"Kieran Trippier has reached an agreement with Eyüpspor. The football player is trying to get his annual income from Newcastle. Eyüpspor is waiting for these talks."
The Turkish transfer window closes on 18th September so Eyupspor have time to work on a deal with the Magpies.
Trippier was brought on in the second half of the game against Bournemouth last week and looked to be a key figure in dragging Newcastle back into the game.
He was rewarded with a starting place against Nottingham Forest in midweek where he didn't capture that same magic.
There are two schools of thought when it comes to Tripps: His influence behind the scenes is massive, he's a huge part of the club's morale and replacing that would be nigh-on impossible. However, he is 34 next month and Livramento has taken over his spot in the starting lineup, so we can probably afford to let him go.
For us, we'd be happy to keep him but we'd also see the sense in selling him. He'll always be a hero up here for what he did, bringing us back from the brink after joining a club in a relegation scrap when he was clearly much better than that. Unfortunately, though, we can't undo the effects of time and the reality is, he's not the player he was a couple of years ago.
