Newcastle's second pre-season friendly away to Rangers on Tuesday, 18th July (7.45 p.m. kick-off) will be streamed live on NUFC TV, but it will cost you £7.99 to watch. This is £2 cheaper than the Gateshead Friendly, at least, but still seems a bit steep for what is another game of very little consequence. Some sources had reported incorrectly that the game would be streamed for free.

The game against Rangers is a testimonial in honour of their long-serving goalkeeper Allan McGregor and 8,000 NUFC supporters have snapped up tickets to support the lads in Glasgow. The good news is that a proportion of the proceeds from the match will go to charities nominated by McGregor.

The excellent pairing of Matthew Raisbeck and John Anderson will be NUFC TV's commentary team, and you'll be able to purchase the stream here in due course. We still maintain that £4.99 should be the absolute limit to stream a pre-season friendly, but as with the Gateshead game, at least some of the revenue is going to a worthy cause.

The likes of Bruno Guimarães, Joelinton, and Sandro Tonali aren't expected to feature at Gateshead but could be involved in Glasgow, having just returned to Newcastle in the last 48 hours. Plenty of regular first-teamers will be involved, too, as Eddie Howe seeks to get his squad up to optimum fitness ahead of a massive 2023/24 campaign in the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and League Cup.
