PSV manager Peter Bosz speaks highly of Newcastle United ahead of Champions League meeting at St James' Park
Eredivisie toppers PSV are Newcastle United's next opponents, coming to St James' Park on Wednesday night in the Champions League. Kick-off is at 8 pm on TNT Sports.
The Dutch side are undefeated away from home all season and has just one defeat to their name in the league this season, so they are going to pose quite a threat for the Magpies.
PSV battered Liverpool 4-1 at Anfield earlier this season, even before the wheels fell off for the Reds, so there's no room for underestimating the calibre of tomorrow's opposition.
However, Newcastle will feel that they shouldn't be underestimated too, and clearly, PSV's manager Peter Bosz is aware of that.
PSV manager Peter Bosz is 'in awe' of Newcastle
Speaking to the media ahead of tomorrow's game, Bosz said he was in 'awe' of Newcastle's physicality.
"I am in awe of them. The physical power and the intensity they have at home is enormous and it is going to be a difficult challenge."
Newcastle have some big players in their ranks with the likes of Malick Thiaw, Sven Botman and Joelinton, but sometimes we feel like they can forget just how intimidating they can be. Well, Joelinton doesn't, but he's a different breed.
Newcastle should rely more on their physicality
We're not suggesting we should resort to kicking PSV off the pitch, but if we can let them know they're in for a fight, it might cause them to back off slightly.
As long as they don't set up in a low block, we might actually get a game tomorrow night.
Can Newcastle break PSV's away form? Honestly, we'd take the draw at this point. Many believe one more point would be enough to see us into the play-offs for the knockout stages.
