'Pretty comfortable': Chris Sutton keeps it short and sweet when picking the winner between Newcastle United and Burnley

Newcastle United host Burnley at St James' Park on Saturday in a rare 3 pm kick-off in the Premier League.

The Magpies have to shake off the disappointment of dropping two points on Tuesday night, and a home tie against a side that have lost five games in a row sounds like the perfect tonic.

However, we are long-term Newcastle United fans here, so we know that nothing is a given for this team.

If a team comes to Newcastle with a long-standing issue, you can almost guarantee they'll put it right at our expense.

Chris Sutton only sees one winner on Saturday

Chris Sutton isn't a jaded Newcastle fan, thankfully, and his prediction for the BBC is a lot more positive. Some might even say, too positive.

"Not many predictions seem straightforward anymore, but this one does.

"Burnley have lost five games in a row and I don't see things changing here. Their main issue is still that they don't score enough goals, while only Wolves have conceded more than them this season.

"I always think Newcastle look so dangerous but they haven't found any consistency this season, as we saw with their draw against Tottenham. Even so, they should be pretty comfortable here.

"Sutton's prediction: 2-0"

We need to shake off the Tuesday blues

Clearly, Sutton didn't have much to say about this one as he feels it's a foregone conclusion. Paul Merson went for a convincing win, too, so who are we to argue?

Let's just hope the pundits are right and we're just still feeling the effects of Tuesday's slip-up, and that's why our confidence is dented.

I mean, it's St James' Park against a side in the bottom three. We have to be winning that, don't we?
