Newcastle United are still dragging their heels when it comes to outbound transfers despite a renewed urgency to land incoming players.

The Magpies could end the week with two new arrivals after Will Osula signed yesterday and the deal for Marc Guehi is said to be moving quickly.

However, when it comes to getting players off the books, Newcastle haven't been so hot.

Eddie Howe saw Yankuba Minteh and Elliot Anderson depart at the end of June to ensure compliance with PSR, but there have been other players linked with summer exits who still remain.

Newcastle aren't great at selling players

We all thought Ryan Fraser would have been a Southampton player by now but he's still on the books at Newcastle. Similarly, Jamal Lewis is still at the club and has even featured in pre-season friendlies.

Callum Wilson was heavily linked with a move away but the striker has gone and got himself injured again putting and end to the idea of him leaving this summer.

Another player who we expected to be leaving is Kieran Trippier. Eddie Howe's first, and probably still overall best signing who was hailed as 'unbelievable' by Alan Shearer.

West Ham want Kieran Trippier

The 33-year-old has just returned to training this week after an extended break which saw the defender head to Dubai which had many fans thinking he was out there working on a move to Saudi Arabia. That clearly wasn't the case, but that's not to say Trippier's Newcastle future is assured by any means.

In fact, The Telegraph claim that West Ham are now keen to bring Trippier to London as part of their summer recruitment drive.

Julen Lopetegui has been busy in the transfer window but it's believed he's still in the market for a full-back and that Trippier could be the man.

We're not opposed to Trippier going, but losing him to a Premier League rival isn't ideal. It was fine when we thought he was going to Saudi, but now we're not so sure.
