A new right winger is an absolutely essential signing for Newcastle United this summer, and now that Bryan Mbeumo has opted against signing for Newcastle, we asked our readers who they think the Magpies should bring in instead.

Bryan Mbeumo decided to follow the money, or could maybe follow Thomas Frank after his move to Tottenham threw a spanner in Man United's works, but Newcastle had thankfully had a few other options in mind.

Newcastle are being strongly linked with Brighton's João Pedro, and while he's seen more as a backup for Alexander Isak, he can play down the right flank and has even hinted that he'd be happy to play on the right to secure a move away from Brighton.

A more likely option for the right flank would be someone like Anthony Elanga, who Newcastle have admired for a while now, having made a last-ditch effort to sign the Nottingham Forest man last summer.

The results are in and it was closer than we thought

Mohammed Kudus is another player we've been linked with a few times this summer, and we also included Antoine Semenyo and Jarrod Bowen in the mix, as well as an option for 'other', and here's how our readers voted:

Anthony Elanga 26.9%

Mohammed Kudus 25.6%

Jarrod Bowen 16.7%

Joao Pedro 11.5%

Other 10.3%

Antoine Semenyo 9%

Anthony Elanga edges out Mohammed Kudus as our readers' choice for right-wing

It was a close call between Elanga and Kudus, and in all honesty, that makes sense to us as both have proven themselves in the Premier League.

However, we were surprised to see Jarrod Bowen down in third; perhaps his age played into people's thoughts with that one.

Clearly, not many people want Antoine Semenyo at Newcastle. Perhaps they don't feel he's fully washed the Sunderland off his body yet.

We still wouldn't at all be surprised if we sign someone who isn't on the list and probably hasn't even been mentioned as a possibility yet.
