With all of the talk around Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak's future that popped up last week, we ran a poll asking fans if there were any circumstances in which they'd contemplate a sale for our star striker.

Thankfully, the talk of a move to Liverpool is dying down as they, and the media, are coming to terms with the fact that Alexander Isak will not be sold by Newcastle this summer.

Several media outlets were bending over backwards to suggest ways that it could happen last week, with plenty suggesting that Newcastle should just take the £120 million - £150 million and be grateful.

There's no doubt that we could do some serious shopping with that money, but would it be worth it in the long run?

That's pretty telling

Our readers were given four options regarding the sale of Alexander Isak

We provided four options in our poll as we asked our readers their thoughts on whether Newcastle should sell Alexander Isak.

  • Yes, if the money was good and reinvested in players.
  • Yes, but only to a foreign club.
  • I'd trust the club with whatever decision they made.
  • Absolutely not, it would be a massive backwards step.

No big surprises here

It wasn't so much a shock that the overwhelming majority (75%) of the people who took part in the poll were dead against selling Isak, but we weren't expecting over 11% to be okay with the idea of selling Isak as long as the money was reinvested.

6.7% of people who voted chose to sell him abroad, and another similar number subscribe to 'trust the process', which is fair enough.

While it's a very small cross-section of fans who partook in the poll, it's probably fairly representative of how fans feel, with most fans unwilling to even entertain the idea of selling our world-class forward.
