Newcastle United go in search of vengeance tomorrow as they travel to the City Ground to take on Nottingham Forest live on Sky Sports - kick-off at 5:30pm

Forest humiliated Newcastle at St James' Park in December thanks in no small part to former Magpie Chris Wood who helped himself to a tidy hat trick on the day.

Mercifully, the Kiwi striker is unavailable for Nottingham Forest, but they still had other players who made the difference on the day. Anthony Elanga absolutely tortured Dan Burn for example.

Newcastle will miss Anthony Gordon

Newcastle will be missing Anthony Gordon which is a huge blow, however, Paul Merson believes it's another man who may or may not be involved who will hold the key.

In his score predictions for Sportskeeda, Paul Merson calls into question the availability of Morgan Gibbs-White and goes on to say how he will have a big say on the outcome.

"Both these teams need to start winning games soon. I heard Morgan Gibbs-White might be injured, but strangely enough, he stayed on the whole time against Bristol City, so his involvement in the game could decide the outcome.

"Newcastle are becoming a bit like Brighton in the sense that they are hard to predict, but I think they'll just nick this one on their travels.

"Prediction: Nottingham Forest 1-2 Newcastle United"

Who knows how this one will go?

Merse hit the nail on the head when he said Newcastle are hard to predict. Nobody would have seen back-to-back defeats to Luton and Forest coming in December, and then definitely not a 4-4 draw in the Luton rematch.

Who knows how this one is going to go? Again, on paper, this should be Newcastle all day, but we thought that when Forest came to St James' Park.

We're so glad we don't do score predictions ourselves. I'm stressed just thinking about it.
