The Sandro Tonali transfer saga continues to rumble on as more and more pundits and journalists have their say on the situation, a week after Newcastle United were reportedly bracing for a deadline day swoop for the Italian from Arsenal.

While that story was quick to be proven a figment of someone's imagination, the idea of Sandro Tonali leaving Newcastle United has not gone away, and it has not been helped by his agent, Giuseppe Riso.

The Italian's agent has spoken out a couple of times regarding Tonali leaving Newcastle, first to deny he had offered him to Arsenal, and then again when talking to the media in Italy.

Both times, Riso dangled a baited hook into the water, suggesting that Tonali is there for the taking in the summer, and now, Newcastle fans are convinced that he will leave at the end of the season. Based on current form, the reaction to that happening may be a lot milder than last year's debacle with Alexander Isak.

Simon Jordan would play hardball over Sandro Tonali

Simon Jordan has been reacting to Giuseppe Riso's comments on talkSPORT, and he delivered a strong response to the duo.

"I would say to him, you've got a contract that looks like you're staying with us until 2029 so shut your face, pack it in.

"I'd also want to be answering the question [Hopkinson got about whether the offer was true] a little bit more comprehensively about who was offering who to whom, because it's not a case of you don't know. The agent seemed to be indicating that Newcastle or some guise of Newcastle was offering a player to Arsenal.

"Now the agent might be offering the player, but that's not his gift, the agent can't offer anybody to anybody, his registration is with Newcastle. Newcastle look like they've got him under contract until 2029. It's 2026. Why would the agent feel that he has one single scintilla of a mandate to offer a cup of coffee, let alone him to another football club?"

Simon Jordan expects Sandro Tonali to leave Newcastle before next season

Jordan later suggested that Tonali will leave in the summer, branding him as already gone when discussing which club out of Tottenham and Newcastle are the bigger pretender to the Big Six title.

"Newcastle and then you've got their players as soon as their players get to a level, in comes (Alexander) Isak - World class gone. In comes Tonali comes back from a ban, performs at a certain level - gone. well he'll be gone. If he's making the noises he'll be gone."

It's hard not to agree with him at this moment in time. All signs point towards an exit for Sandro. Unless he starts to perform like we know he can, proving this commitment to the club that Eddie Howe and David Hopkinson insist he has, fans aren't going to buy into it.
