As of 11.20 a.m. on Wednesday the 26th of July, 70,000 Newcastle fans have queued to get their hands on the new club membership this morning. There are over 46,000 still waiting in the queue despite memberships going on sale at 10 a.m., 80 minutes ago.

Unlike game-by-game ticket sales in 2022/23, which were heavily impacted by supporters using multiple devices and web browsers, this number should give an accurate reflection of the demand for memberships, as there is no benefit to using more than one device or browser window to "game" the queue position.

As such, there has never been a better demonstration of the sheer level of demand to get to St. James' Park to watch Eddie Howe's side. 2023/24 membership doesn't guarantee supporters a ticket, either, with entry into a game-by-game ballot coming in for the new campaign.

Selling 71,000 memberships would generate around £2 million for the club, which would surely be record revenue from the memberships themselves. Added to new front-of-shirt partner Sela, the money the club will generate from being back in the Champions League, and future partnerships that are undoubtedly on the way, this looks to be the biggest revenue-generating season in club history.

If you're yet to brave the queue for a 2023/24 membership, you can do so here. Good luck!
