Newcastle United take on Wolverhampton Wanderers this afternoon live on Sky Sports. Kick-off is at 4:30pm.

Wolves haven't had the start to the season they'd have hoped for and Newcastle will be looking to capitalise on that to get their first win at Molineux in seven attempts since coming back to the Premier League.

Managers Eddie Howe and Gary O'Neil know each other well having been teammates while at Portsmouth, and the Wolves boss was full of praise for his opposite number in his pre-match press conference.

However, the Wolves gaffer reserved the highest praise for one of Newcastle's on-field contingent.

Gary O'Neil had high praise for Alexander Isak

Speaking to the media (via The Chronicle) O'Neil reserved special praise for Newcastle's record signing Alexander Isak.

"I know Eddie [Howe] well and he's done an excellent job. They have an abundance of quality and they will be a big test. Isak is one of the best number nines in the league."

Isak, who was hailed as 'phenomenal' by Pat Niven on commentary for Radio 5 Live during the game against Tottenham earlier this month, is on a scoring streak for club and country following netting his first goal of the season in that game against Spurs.

Alexander Isak was our tip for the Golden Boot

We were hoping that the 24-year-old would have a run at the Golden Boot this season but Erling Haaland is making damn sure it won't be easy for the Swede.

The Nordic Cyborg bagged another brace yesterday taking his tally to nine for the season after just four games. The next highest scorers have three goals. He is not normal.

There's still a long way to go yet, though, and Newcastle haven't started to click properly on the pitch yet, and when they do, Isak will reap the rewards.
