Interim England boss Lee Carsley has named his final squad before handing over the reins to former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel in January.

England take on Greece and Republic of Ireland in the next two Nations League games later this month.

Newcastle United have to representatives in the squad with Anthony Gordon keeping his place, and Lewis Hall receiving his first senior call-up after a strong start to the campaign.

That means there's no space in the squad this time around for Nick Pope or Tino Livraemento who must be wondering just what is going on.

Tino Livramento misses out as Lewis Hall receives his first senior call-up

Tino Livramento was called up to Lee Carsley's first squad but never made it onto the pitch to make his senior debut, then in his second squad Livramento wasn't originally called up, but was ultimately drafted to the senior side after a couple of drop outs, but still, he never made his debut.

Now, once again, despite his league form getting even better and recently being hailed as the best in the Premier League in his position by Glen Johnson, Livramento is set to miss out.

Meanwhile, on the opposite side of the defence, Lewis Hall has received his first senior call-up after impressing everyone this season. His recent Player of the Match performance against Arsenal in which he marked England's Bukayo Saka completely out of the game likely sealed the deal for Carsley.

Could we see Hall and Gordon down the left for England?

Hall will fly out to Greece with Anthony Gordon hoping that the Toon pair will be linking up down England's left.

Nick Pope had been in the last two of Lee Carsley's squads too but misses out this time around and we can't say we're entirely shocked by that as Pope, while he's not been awful, has had some moments that have sent our hearts into our mouths.

Fingers crossed that Lewis Hall has more luck getting onto the pitch than Tino Livramento did, it would be weird for him to get called up after all this talk, especially given England's weakness in that position, only for him to ride the bench for two games.
